I was planning to overclock my CPU but then was told that there is no point since the biggest performance gain comes from the graphics card and that I wouldn't see any noticeable performance changes in games.

Having said this, it depends a lot on my system, right?
Can someone please take a look at my specs and tell me if I would see any difference in games if I overclocked my CPU?

I'd say it's almost always worth overclocking as long as you do it right. I have the same CPU and it has a lot of overclocking potential. You'll notice larger gains from games dependent on your CPU (Planetside 2 for example). A lot of games in multiplayer end up being bottlenecke by the CPU so go for it. Your motherboard is asking you to overclock your CPU.

If you overclock, be sure to get an aftermarket cooler and do some homework before doing so.
