Hello!

I used to play the game America: No Peace Beyond The Line on Windows XP years ago and it was great.
I wanted to play it again, but it seems to have compatibility problems with newer systems (I tried on Windows 7 and 8).

The game open, but the mouse is laggy and the game run like 5fps below.
Interesting if I choose a low resolution it runs faster, but not satisfactory

Oh from just reading the title I thought this was a thread on how ISPs in the US are being annoying about not giving very good speed.

But anywho, have you tried choosing the "run in compatibility mode" options when you right click and hit properties?

Unfortunately, yes.
I really wanna play this game, but it seems the engine has problems with newer systems... I also tried to change in Task Manager the amount of CPU cores it uses and the priority of the process, but didn't work.

Yes, I thought of that, but I was first looking for a solution without virtual boxes...
There was a game called King of the Road (or Hard Truck II, both names were known) and it had some problems like America, but it also had color problems. I remember I could solve this problem closing the process explorer.exe.
I could try the same with America, too bad I'm at work now. When I get home I'll try this and post the result here, but I'll be glad if you help with any tip until there.

Try to use this specifications:

In America.ini config the Full Screen option from 1 to 0, then go to compatibility options in America.exe properties, try in Windows XP service pack 3, then 16 bit in color mode, and disable scale setting. Then run the game. In game, you can probe to change the resolution in options menu.

Sorry for my bad English hehe, I hope you work. This work in my Windows 8 PC =)

Greetings from Peru.
