If it looks like it is being a bad psu, dont risk it. Buy a new one. What model is it?

Get yourself a new PSU, and cross your fingers that nothing else was damaged when your old PSU fried. And, don't by any means run your system (if it is still working) at all until you get a new PSU.

Seasonic, XFX, and Antec are some good brands.

Xfx proseries are great. High quality. Wont burn like that one.

this is the only one as it came with my pc but upgraded it :) . And yes i need to run it as i have no other pc in the house. I will only be running it until my new one arrives. What Psu do you recommend? Preferably under 60 pounds or 100 dollars.

Xfx core edition psu, 550w. In general, you cant go wrong with xfx powersupplies.

For your build, 550w is plenty. 450W might be enough.

"Put a much worse one in there". LOL.

Get a 550W as the others said, from Corsair, Antec, XFX or Seasonic. You could get a nice Gold one for 100 dollars.

Buy a new one.

I'd personally get a XFX 550~750W PSU.
