Specs :
AMD FX-6100 Six-Core Processor (3.3GHz)
3GB XFX Radeon R9 280X
8 GB Ram (Not sure of the speed)
Windows 7 Home Premium (SP1) 64bit

FPS in Arma 3: 15-24 (On Lowest and Ultra settings, Not affected at all)

CPU usage never goes over 65%
GPU average usage over about 30 mins is 21%

Im looking into buying an FX-8350 in a week or two. Would this make a noticeable difference?

Your CPU is acting as a major bottleneck, especially in Arma 3. You're getting normal FPS for that processor. Keep in mind, this uses the very inefficient Bulldozer architecture, unlike the modified Piledriver architecture in Vishera CPUs.

The only things you can do is OC your processor and try to end all CPU resource hogging background processes.

nahh no way, this CPU should perform a lot better then that in that game + it won't get past 65% loads it's not normal there is something else going on...just a quick question OP, did you bought the game or you downloaded from torrents site? be honest im not here to blame we are no policeman i need a true answer to troubleshoot this.

Then this is a problem, there is no way this FX 6 core (tho a bulldozer i know is not as good but still i played this game on an old core 2 duo and i was getting more then 15FPS on low settings...) there is defenetly something going on...do you have a software like HWINFO that would monitor CPU usage can you check if any of the cores get fed up to 100% at any time while you play the game?

check my previous post about 100% cpu usage on one core or not?
also are you able to overclock this cpu you have and see if that helps? if you have no idea on how to do this ignore this post.

When you say you re-installed the drivers - did you completely remove the old ones using DDU??
This is important as un-installing them through the control panel doesn't completely remove all of the display drivers nor clear out the registry.

Yeah if you look around the net net, lots of people are having low FPS in ARMA. It does seem to use a lot of CPU, so you probably have a bottleneck.
Windows is taking some of the resources of the CPU to keep room for Windows stuff, thats why you don't get to 100 percent. But you consistently have high cpu usage on multiple cores in your report. You've done everything else that could cause a problem. Also, other games don't give you this problem do they?
Edit: That 8350 should make a huge difference.

BF4 gives me FPS that goes from 80 to sub-20 so it is very hard to play and have an enjoyable experience.

OK - The up to 80 fps shows me that the GPU is working properly. The low FPS there could be another CPU bottleneck depending on whats happening in the game.
I would overclock the CPU a bit - watch your temps - run the game again to see if you see an improvement. Any improvement will pretty much prove the bottleneck issue.

I'd say CPU bottleneck, but this is quite unlikely for an 6300 ... I have a bottleneck myself and can relate to the same symptoms (no fps change when cranking up/down settings). Check the CPU load / GPU load (task manager + GPU-Z) and look if the CPU hits 99% load a lot of the time. If the GPU load is a lot lower you are being bottlenecked.

The 6100 isn't at full load because Arma 3 can't scale effectively across 6 cores. It's maxed at 60% because 4 cores is 2/3rds of 6 and 60% is roughly 2/3rds of 100% CPU usage. The Arma series is an incredibly CPU bound game, people get low 20s with the 6300, it only makes sense that you get a bit lower than that with a worse CPU.

Depending on your motherboard you could try upgrading to a Vishera processor and overclocking.

His GPU isn't the problem if he doesn't have low FPS in most every game, only in CPU bound ones like Arma and BF4 multiplayer.
