I just recently purchased this computer used and, from what I remember, there was no crackling sound. But recently I have started to notice the sound along with the computer screen glitching every once in while (the glitching goes away once I move the mouse). It has gotten very annoying to say the least. If I have the sound up at all I can hear the sound coming from the speakers (keep in mind that these are the speakers that are built into the monitor that I am referring to). The sound is not always consistent, but often it sounds similar to white noise and every so often will making a sort of squeaking chirping sound. I can also here all of this sound while I have headphones plugged into the monitor (I can hear it through the headphones). Although, I do NOT hear the sound through the headphones if I plug them in to the other outlet in the computer's console (but if I remove the headphones from my ears I can still hear the buzzing coming from the monitor). From doing some research, people who have had similar problems suggest that my speakers might be blown - although I personally doubt that this is the case considering that I have never keep my volume very high. I would appreciate any help I can get, thanks!

Try a new cable going to the monitor and test with external speakers. If the cable does not fix the issue, and the other speakers work, it's an issue with the monitor.
