the estimated wattage on pcpartpicker was 384 so I got a 500 watt power supply. it seems the pc will turn on without the gpu but not with it. Maybe install the OS then install the drivers? maybe the motherboard needs to update? I didn't know this could be a problem.

This is a new build and I do not have another PC. I thought I messed the build up so I brought it to my friends house where he discovered it would boot without the card. I saw him power it on and it went to the install boot menu( I didnt get to install the OS yet). Now that I brought it home non of the fans turn on and I dont get the boot menu either. *sigh* this is frustrating; it worked at his house 30 minutes ago and now it doesn't at mine.

Weirdly enough, The problem was actually the reset button and the power buttons are switched. So both me and my friend were not able to turn it on because we were pressing the wrong button the whole time. It was weird though because I had to press the reset button to turn the system on and then the power button to actually make the system boot up.

So it was a certain combo of buttons I needed to press. Reset button then power button. Might be a case problem but I don't care enough that the buttons are switched. Thanks for the help.
