I have been looking around for a while now because i want to upgrade my graphics card, Basically i want to ask the same old newbie question but just specific to myself so i get a good answer, My question is: What is the best graphics card i can get for £120-£160 that would work with my system,

CPU: AMD Athlon ii x4 645 3100mhz 4 cores
Motherboard: GA-880GMA-UD2H
PSU: Corsair CMPSU-430CX (430w) Output: (+3.3V@20A, +5V@20A, +12V@28A, -12V@0.8A, +5VSB@3A) <---- I have added these as from what i have read these values seem to be importnat as to what card i can get
RAM: 4 x Corsair 4gb DDR3 1333mhz
Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 6850 1GB GDDR5

Feel free to ask for anymore info, Also does the ram use much power really? It's the the PSU which is limiting me to what graphics card i get so could i free up some wattage my removing say 8gb RAM? seems as though i rarely use more than 6 anyway.

RAM doesnt use much power, a few watts at most nothing noticeable. As Stacks on Deck wrote a GTX 750 or 750 Ti would be a safe bet. You may be able to push it up to a 760 but that may be out of your price range

Thanks for the replies, Would you guys say the GTX 750 is better than then the Radeon 6850? Just looking on some comparison sites and they it seems have some things better than each other, whats most important?

Edit : sorry i took so long to type more replies came in! The r7 265 does look a better option, would the increase to 150w not be a problem? I just don't know what my limit is

I think the r7 265 is the one i'm going to go for, It's seems to score higher in every way other than slightly on the core speed and memory speed to the GTX 750, or are they so important? as long as i have the power it's all good.

Also actually, is it worth the upgrade from 6850? I will notice a difference won't i? In FPS mostly i'm hoping.

According to my motherboard spec i have PCI express 2.0 x16 slot and the r7 265 needs PCI 3.0 x16 in the specs, that will be problem for me won't it?
