HP Compaq DC7900 as HTPC?

I'm looking to pick up a HP DC7900 and use as an HTPC. The one I'm looking at is a Core 2 Duo 3.16 GHz with 4 GB RAM. That should be good. However, can I replace the DVD drive with a blu-ray drive? Since these are business systems, is the BIOS locked down to the point where it won't recognize the drive?

When I search for that model I get HP pages that say it could be a tower case or sff case

If a blu ray fits it will work . SATA is SATA

The one I'm looking at is SFF. I have a low profile GT610 HDMI video card to install, so it's really just whether or not the Blu--Ray would work.

It would work and connect to the mb . The case means it will have to be a slim drive

Really? I found a tech article on HP that showed how to remove the optical drive and it looked like a standard 5.25 drive. Is a slim drive the same as a laptop drive?

Usually sff cases use slim optical drives . I guess you can open the case and find out what you have .
