I recently put together my first gaming pc with the Windforce gtx 770 GPU. From what I heard/read, this GPU is pretty high end and is going to be capable for quite some time, but it only has 2 gb of Vram. I've hear some say that 2gb is completely sufficient, and some say that it's nearly outdated. What do you guys think?

It's been debated so long, that I don't think you will get an answer. IMO, it will keep rocking 1080p for a while at least.

It depends wholly on what resolution you plan to play at.

2 GB is perfect for 1080p and is most likely fine for 1440p, although 3 GB is preferred. At 4K resolutions, you want 4GB to avoid microstuttering and other problems associated with too little VRAM.

Unless you are running 3+ monitors, 2gb of VRAM is plenty for gaming. If you will be doing more workstation-like tasks, I would consider the 4gb card for a bit extra performance.

Consider this post by dannyboy2233,

"I hate to say it, but the concept of "future-proofing" in computers is simply nonexistent. I can almost completely guarantee you that you will start to see the games lagging and your graphics card struggling before you will really need the extra VRAM.
Take, for example, the GTX 295. Released in early 2009, it was the top-of-the-line, dual-GPU card from NVIDIA. Now, only four years later, it is practically obsolete. I can go on ebay right now and buy one for 20% what it originally cost, due to the fact that, when it comes to maximum performance, no one wants it anymore.
And that was their top-of-the-line card. The 770, although it is a spectacular card, is not the very best. As I said, the GPU will become obsolete and start underperforming before you will see that the VRAM limit is being pushed.
Since you won't be playing on Ultra, there's even more reason to not get 4GB."

I don't see myself investing in such a monitor/ monitors anytime soon. Thanks!
