I got an intel core i7 3770k (socket 1155) yesterday. First I removed the CPU cover on the mainboard then I installed the CPU.

In User Guide It's mentioned that it's important to Install the CPU first and then remove the cover.
The caution on the cover: "Install processor FIRST then remove and KEEP the cover.
Well Place this cover while removing processor or returning motherboard"

Is there any reason about that? Should I remove and re-install my CPU?

Solution
That's just so you don't expose the delicate contacts in the socket any longer than necessary. The load plate then 'pops' the cover loose when you close it. But you can remove it first with no issues.
