I've an LSI 9271-8iCC and am looking at which SSD's I should get around the 500GB capacity mark for use as the CacheCade Cache.

I have used the Samsung 840 Pro's for this in the past, however as this is for a home lab environment I am looking to keep the cost down while keeping the performance up. I can't seem to find anything resembling an SSD compatibility list for CacheCade on the LSI website. The only reference to SSD compatibility I've seen in the LSI CacheCade doco is that the SSD must be ATA-8 ACS compliant. Can't find any doco on the Samsung site for any of the 840 series SSD's stating this compliance.

Just wondering if anyone had successfully used the Samsung EVO, or even the older original 840 series SSD's as the CacheCade array on their LSI controller?
