All my parts arrived yesterday except my video card and RAM. My RAM might not arrive until next week Monday, and I'm getting impatient. While I can use my old video card as a substitute, I'm not sure if I can use my old RAM until my new ones arrive.

My old RAM is an 8GB (2x4GB) Kingston HyperX 1600 MHz DDR3 kit. My new motherboard is an MSI Z87-G43. Are they compatible?

The real problem however is if they're safe to use. My old PC has suffered from the failure of two low quality power supplies. I decided not to repair it after the second failure, so I don't know if the RAM is still working. Is it possible that it got damaged?

Your mother board supoorts DDR3 Memory DDR3 1066/1333/1600/1866*/2000*/2133*/2200*/2400*/2600*/2666*/2800*/3000*(*OC) MHz
and u can use old ram for now but for saftey use one 1*4gb now and check it works fine if u hear some beep sound from mother board or board dont booting try the other one if two of them are not working better wait for new one if one is working try the other one end enjoy i have heard that hyperx rams are great for performance
