Summary: I had an old Dell slim factor that I was using for a temporary storage device to play videos and music over Apple's Air Play. Each room in our house has apple tv and it was convenient to access all MP4/MP3 files in each room over wifi. Well, that Dell clunked out (mobo died) and now I am trying to pick parts to build a small HTPC that will share these files as needed.

Main Purpose of this HTPC: Run iTunes and Bose SoundTouch software. This system will be in our living room and also used to view movies on our HDTV.

Components:

Case: Silverstone Sugo Series SG05BB Lite SECC

CPU: Intel Celeron G1620 2.7GHz LGA 1155

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H61N-USB3 Mini ITX

RAM: G. Skill 4GB DDR 1333 SDRAM

HDD: WD Blue 1TB 7200 RPM Hard Drive

PSU: Solid Gear 220 Watt Flex ATX Power Supply

Items not needed are: Blu-Ray Drive, keyboard, monitor or mouse. These items have already been purchased. I will be using the integrated graphics in the CPU as well. So I don't think I need a GPU at this time.

OS: This system will be running Windows 7.

Oh Yea...: I would like this system to run as quiet as possible and run COOL, to prevent over-heating. Any thoughts?

If you can recommend any parts that I may have forgotten or over looked, please advise. If you think any of the parts above are over-kill or may have poor performance, please advise.

Thanks!!

CPU - try one of these - http://mymediaexperience.com/best-htpc-cpu/. Mobo - depends on CPU. RAM must match mobo. Is case old? I can't see it in my current cases. Is PSU included with case? Solid Gear isn't even listed in http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page541.htm I'd feel better if you got something like the Seasonic 350W - http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=15_972&products_id=25375 (Australia Prices) that's if it fits the case. See: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=25_1119&vk_sort=4 for a range of iTX cases. Some with PSU, a lot without. It looks like the smaller cases have a 'SFX' (Small Form Factor?) PSU. Silverstone have their own range of PSU's for PC's but I'm...

Bigger cases cool better. Case fans are pretty quiet these days, but you will hear the air flow in the quiet moment in a movie.
