Hi there!

Currently im experiencing a very annoying software issue which I cannot seem to resolve. I've been searching the internet for quite a while now and no solution seems to fix my issue. The problem is this:

For quite a while I've been using Windows 8.1. However eversince I've installed Windows 8.1 along with the AMD catalyst drivers my brightness slider does not seem to work as it used to work (it does change the current brightness however the difference is almost unnoticable). I've tried to uninstall the catalyst drivers and somehow after uninstalling these it seems to "fix" the brightness issue, if you can call that "fix"... After discovering this i've tried various versions of the catalyst drivers from 12.* up to 14.* and they all bug my brightness so badly that I can't see properly during daytime.

Is there anyone on the forums with an idea (regfix?) how to resolve this issue? It would make my day ^^.

I'm using a AMD 7730M combined with the onboard 7660G (mobility), Windows 8.1 and any of the 12* - 14* version of the Catalyst Drivers.

Hiya,

Thanks for your reply. However the Leshcat drivers are for Intel HD Graphics APU's. I'm using an AMD APU. The socalled brightness resolver seems to be stand alone but the fix doesn't fix my problem im afraid.

Anyone else has a solution?

Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem and laptop and fixed the issue using the registry: changing both the "0000" and "0001" branches from the following solution.
