So, I didn't buy an optical drive when I got all the parts for my computer. And now I'm lost.
I've never had to install from scratch before, especially not with with a USB drive. I downloaded a torrent of Windows 8 (I don't have a physical copy) , I also copied the contents of a Windows Xp cd I had lying around. Put both of them on the drive (separate times of course) but it can't find a file to boot off of.
Can someone please tell me what in the world I'm doing wrong?
Would I be better off just going to buy an optical drive, installing XP, and then when the system is up and running, upgrade to Windows 8?
