For that budget I'd expect a 780, or even a 780 ti.

When the rig is complete it looses value over used parts. I would personally say 1200-1500 is better, but if it is only 2000 new then the standard 20 percent deviation brings it to 1600 used. Then you add in other factors and 1500 is a good price. I would offer 1500 based on the fact it devalues over time also.
