Hi,

So I'm on the market for a new laptop, as my old laptop is getting to a point where the pressure on it is too much. Round about now, the Battery had enough as well.

1. What is your budget?
$1000.00
2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
15.6 - 17.3"
3. What screen resolution do you want?
1080P?
4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Portable. Have a $2400 machine for heavy processing
5. How much battery life do you need?
2 - 3 hours?
6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
Yes, Dota2, Battlefield 4. Medium settings should be more than enough. If I really want to play games, I'll use my rig. Will be nice to play the odd game or two on it from time to time
7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
Word processing (Java, C#), Programming, web development and a little photo editing.
8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
512GB Mechanical HDD, and second slot for 256GB SSD. Id it comes with an SSD pre installed, I'll be great
9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
No specific sites
10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?
3 - 4 Years. Will upgrade when it's starting to show it's age.
11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
DVD ROM/Writer should be more than enough
12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
Open to suggestions. I deal with Acer and HP on a Daley basis, so I'd prefer HP or Acer. MSI, and ASUS is also an option as well.
13. What country do you live in?
South Africa - Can source suppliers that can help me import said laptop
14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.
I'd prefer if it had an Quad core i7 processor. 8GB RAM should be fine for now. Anything less than a GT740/GT640 is a no.

The last laptop I had my eyes on was this one:

The issue is, my suppliers keeps on giving me conflicting information about it, so I don't really want to entertain their messing about. I also can't find any review, or Tech specs for this specific model. Is this Acer a good buy, or is there better alternatives out there?

How's this?
I'm not sure if it has a secondary hard drive bay. It says it has a hdd and ssd soI think it does.
It also has a good enough graphics card that will play all media and do decent gaming.
