So this card is advertised to run at 75 degrees under load?

With some games it does sit around there, but with most it hits 85-95 degrees.

This is really upsetting as the card performs really well.
I bought this version of the card because i was aware of the reference models heat issues, I guess this card has them too ? -.-

Does anyone know if this is normal with this version of the card? And how safe are those temps.
Trying to decide if i should return the card or not.

:(

Try fiddling with the MSI Afterburner, and set the fans to manual. Or go to MSI website and check if there is new BIOS update for the GPU.

The chips in the R9 series are designed to run very hot. Anything ~90C isn't all that odd for one of these.

The R9 is one of the hottest cards that you can buy. And not in the good way.
I'd go so far as to say that the Twin Frozr design is the best cooling structure ever. There isn't much you can do with that thing.

Mine is not even overclocked and the fans are set manually to 100 for gaming.

They say this card is perfectly safe running at 95 degrees, I just don't know if I can believe that. ^^

Yes, they can take the heat, btw the crypto miners are running their R9 290 at 90C for 24/7.

But for how long will the card live at that temp? So many people in debate wether it can survive the lifespan of a 75 degree card. I just dont know :p
