I have a vga and dvi-d ports on the back of my graphics card.i have the same on 2 monitors . the guy in the shop said i can run 2 monitors off this . The vga works fine on both monitors but the dvi-d with a dedicated cable (new ) dvi-d to dvi-d is just showing a blank screen. i have tried downloading the latest drivers and rebooting the computer like ive seen in another post but still nothing . any ideas anyone

Solution
I've heard of people having similar issues that were caused by using 1 digital signal and 1 analog signal together. After they switched to both digital signals their second monitor started working. I haven't seen this personally so I don't know if i's true.

i have tried the dvi-d cable on its own with one monitor and it doesnt work. the monitor has a sticker on it saying dual analog and dvi inputs so i know this is ok to use dvi-d with . the computor has recently had the above mentioned graphics card put in and i was told i could use 2 monitors with it . is there some other setting in my computer i should be changing /adjusting ?

Reading the review on your monitor it does support a digital connection. (I was wondering if you had a DVI-A port on the monitor because you said "the monitor has a sticker on it saying dual analog".) So this leaves the following options. 1) the DVI port on your GPU is bad/dead. 2) The DVI cable you are using is bad/dead. 3) You still haven't tried/done correctly the switch on the side of the monitor to switch from VGA to DVI.

The FPD1960 accepts analog and digital input, and the top button on the side allows you to switch between the two sources.

If you did the button already, I'd try another cable. If that still doesn't work that only thing that comes to my mind is the DVI port on the card is dead.

cheers that sounds feasible, i have tried the button on the side of the monitor it goes black comes back on and says "input analog". so i try the dvi-d cable (its definitely dvi-d on the monitor)All goes black cos no signal i press button again on monitor thinking its gonna appear saying now digital but nothing .
