Hi,

I'm trying to run/open an .exe file, every time I click on it, it does nothing, there's no error messages or anything. So far I've tried starting in safe mode and running it from CMD, none of these worked. I've allowed the .exe file through my firewall, I'm the Admin account of my PC.

It's weird because on my other PC that has the exact same operating system, it's runs just fine.

My PC is new, so I'm thinking it could be missing some sort of driver or something and it won't run certain .exe files. So far though all other .exe files have ran just fine. But I know the .exe file isn't corrupt or broken as it runs just fine on my other PC and it can't be OS compatibility issues either.

What's left to check or change? I'm all out of ideas, I need some help here.

Thanks, any help is really appreciated!

I've tried this and still the same, no error messages come up.

Have you tried right clicking and "run as admin"? I had an issue with one program that would not run, unless I did that. Not sure what the issue was with it. It was one of those programs that I used VERY rarely.... so didn't look into it much.

Yeah tried that, still nothing.

However as the first poster mentioned it may be the NET Framework is not up to date. I'm installing the latest version to see if that helps.

Ok it's not the NET Framework, still not working.

Here's another thing I've noticed. This is what it looks like on the working PC:

And here's it not working on the other PC:

What does this indicate? A missing driver or something? It looks like it's missing something and doesn't know how to open it. If it was a missing driver, how would I find out what driver was missing?

It's a pretty long name, but there's no '.exe' on the end of it. Also the setup requires an internet connection as well, my connection seems to be fine, but it makes me wonder if it requires a specific driver to allow a setup file to do this?
