I've already changed my username from control panel to english name (originally it was in russian since my copy of windows ultimate was in russian). I have even changed the keyboard and display language to english. But somehow when using whoami, my username is still being displayed in russian character (only in console, it's displayed as question marks). When I tried to uninstall russian language pack, it's got the yellow warning sign beside it saying that this is the language system, so it can't be uninstalled. I'm confused as how to completely change everything in my PC to english and obliterate the russian language to smithereens once and for all? thanks

You need to install the English Language Pack via Windows Updates: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/21675-63-convert-windows-russian-english
but I already have english set as display and keyboard language, doesn't that mean I already have english language pack installed in my machine? I wanted to upload a screen capture, but couldn't find the button to insert image link. am I missing something here?
