Hi there, im in the market for a new desktop for videoediting and gaming, and was thinking about building one from scratch, having a look on gumtree though, there seem to be a few desktops that are being sold secondhand, with parts that are outside my budget. Note im in australia with a budget of about $1100AUD . The first build i was looking at is 950 plus 100 for win 7 on a ssd. The second build is 1200 neg. so i could probably knock the price down a bit.
just wondering what you guys think of these/ what to look out for to see if there may be any problems with them, or if you think its better to just go with a build from scratch?
Any advice appreciated
Thanks

Solution
'First build':
Red flag - "SSD plus windows 7 installed for extra $100 "
Windows (whatever version) costs around $100
An SSD of reasonable size is around $100

Why then 'both' for $100?

"intel i7 3770" + "ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 board "
Non-OC CPU + OC motherboard

Second build:
"Win 7 ultimate
Office pro including Project manager and VISIO "

That's a lot of extra expensive s/w for a gaming machine
Are the actual install disks and valid keys included?

"Kingston Hyper X RAM 8 GB ( 4GB x2) and 16 GB (8GB x2) total is 26GBRAM "
It says 4 sticks...I only see two in the pic.

Yeah thanks for the reply, i was thinking along the same lines, i suppose its probably easier to just build one from scratch and save myself the hassel/cost of being stuck with somthing thats dodgy, just a pain to build a decent system with the cost of parts here in australia in comparison to the same parts in the states, but hey, what can you do
