Intel core i7 3770k :

Intel core I7 3770k
ECS H61 board
Gskill Ripjaws X 8GB 8gbx1 DDR3 1600 CL10
Thermaltake SMART SE 630W Modular
Sapphire R9-270X Dual-X OC 2GB

OR

Intel Core i5 4670k

Intel core i5 4670k
MSI Z87 G43 Gaming
Gskill Ripjaws X 8GB 8gbx1 DDR3 1600 CL10
Thermaltake SMART SE 630W Modular
Sapphire R9-270X Dual-X OC 2GB

NOTE :

i'll be overclocking in 2-3 years to increase the performance on either build, I know H61 board are not good for overclocking, but I will buy a Z77 board a corsair liquid cooler.

advantages of i7 :
somewhat faster than the i5 ?
cost lower cost I won't buy a board

advantages of i5 :
I dunno, new architecture ?

the Intel core i5 4670k build is much better. it can overclock better than the 3770k. the h61 is not overclocking capable. but if you want to overclock the i5 build is better.

If you don't do heavy editing and you mostly just internet surf and game I would recommend the i5.

Go with the MSI mb, OCgenie is awesome for noob overclockers. I have a p67a gd53 with a 2390T i5 and hyper 212+, I LOVE this mobo. I mean I liked asus and gigabyte. but msi rocks the overclocking features. Also I used to buy alot of ECS mobos for cheap builds, they do not last, save yourself the headache later on

Yep the i5 version. But I'd get a better quality Power Supply like a Seasonic or something made by them - XFX or some of the Corsair range - see
http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page541.htm

No need for that man. The power supply he chose has very high quality components. Brand has nothing to do with it.

You didnt say what you really wanted the pc for.
If you want to Game, any i5 Haswell will cut it on stock clocks.
Overclocking one of these wont make much impact on game experience.
If you want productivity, any i7 will be better.
(Tho the Haswell again at stock is superior to a stock Ivy Bridge)
If you ARE looking for productivity, a non K i7 would be a better option and you could use a cheap non clocking chipset board. There are even 'Zeon' denominated i7 cpu's that are as bit cheaper..But will run in an H81 board full throttle. Its all worth a think.

Are you upgrading something or starting from scratch?

the i7 is a favor for me cause it's cheaper because I wont buy a mobo

So you are currently running a H61 board? Check and see if it is compatible with the Xeon e3-1230v2. If it is, then that is what you should get. :)

Can you not order off of the internet? What is your budget for this potential upgrade?

Well I would try to upgrade to a newer better LGA1150 motherboard and get a Haswell i5 or i7 depending on what you can afford.

i5 4670K is an excellent choice, i7 has a slight increase (slight) and hyperthreading (little to no difference in games)

Thermaltake SmartSE 630W is not 80+ certified. I also read its 240V input only. I wouldn't touch it.
