Ok, so I built my PC and I had an old external HDD lying around. I removed the HDD from it and put it in my PC as a secondary internal for storage. However, windows will not recognize the HDD. I'm using win8.1 64 bit. The bios WILL show the HDD, and I ran WipeDrive on the HDD FROM WITHIN windows and WipeDrive "saw" the HDD just fine as well. The model number for the HDD is WD3200AAVS-0 and it's a WD Green 320 GB HDD. Is there some sort of jumper reset I need to do? How do I do that? Thank you!

The hard drive might have Non standard windows formatting. Do you need the data on the HD? The HD enclosure may have used chip based software to read it. Open Disk Management and see if the drive shows up in there.

I don't need the data on the drive which was why I used WipeDrive on it. Ok, it IS showing up in disk manager, I initialized it, still not showing up in "this PC". What do I do now? It says "disk1 basic online 297.97 unallocated" thanks!
I see no options to partition it.....
