I run my OC at stable 4.8GHz since last August. I researched the subject before I decided which mobo to choose. I considered all brands. Initially Gigabyte, but realized many instances of issues reported by users of all UD baords. Specifically problems with power caps and many revisions of their product with even the recent ones being problematic. MSI however was my previous favorite when I built my last comp back in 2004. I was intending to stay with MSI until I realized, that MSI is lost "faith" with AMD and their main focus is INtel, so their AMD products may be half baked.

The board I chose had least amount of issues reported by users (Newegg and numerous forums I read) and contains very robust power delivery to support OC. If you do not intend to use dual video cards for gaming then 970 board is not limiting you as compared with 990 ranges.

So far I had zero problems with it and am quite happy with my choice
