Hello! I am upgrading my gaming pc because my friend's gtx550ti died forever (got it for free), and yesterday ordered a hd 7770 asus dcu2! It is coming tomorrow, and I got so excited yesterday I installed the drivers and got a bsod because I don't have the gpu yet. I was able to fix it, but want to know what drivers to install. Beta drivers? The most recent ones are from January 2014, but the "stable" ones are from mid 2013. What should I install? Should I install from the disk and then upgrade through steams driver update tool?

Solution
Get the Current drivers from the AMD website. Leave the beta driver go for now until you know the card has no issues.

And no, don't install the drivers for the card until the card is in the slot. In fact, be sure to uninstall the driver for your old card before you swap out cards.

The 550ti died, and I am using the onboard motherboard 760g. Should I uninstall it?

If you are using the Windows default driver for the on-board video, you can leave that. If the video driver is part of the chipset driver package, you can leave that too. But if you downloaded a specific video driver from AMD just for the video, I would uninstall it before installing the new card.

The 550ti is dead and gone. I have been using my motherboards onboard graphics. All I do is put in gpu, plug it in, screw it in, and then go run the driver tool, no?
