Hi I've just purchased a few different parts for my main rig, the final specs would be
fx 8320 (stock)
msi 990fx-gd65
MSI 7950 oc be
8gb g skill 1333
1 hdd western digital black

I need help deciding on a power supply, i have a corsair cxm500 and a gigabyte 720w. Will the corsair 500 power this ?, i would prefer the corsair as it is modular, would look better and improve cable management in my new case (phantom 530). Thanks

More about : psu suitable

The Corsair CX500M might be just barely sufficient, but I would recommend you use the Gigabyte 720w PSU.

You can use the CX500M if you really want to, though, it should be okay.

The Corsair PSU would work, but you'll be left with absolutely no headroom for overclocking.

by being barely sufficient will it still be stable do you think ?, I don't mind as long as it's stable as my pc is on for at least 10 hours a day and i wouldn't fell comfortable knowing my psu is running unstable while im away

Yes - both are fine. The CX500M has a 38Amp 12V rail - not bad - and sufficient for your build.

For $10 more - you could also get the the CX600M with a 46Amp 12V rail - just a bit of future proofing in case you have the urge.

Unfortunately I purchased the CXM 500 a while back and looking back the CXM 600 would have been a better buy. As long as I can run my pc as it is until the end of the year when I upgrade it i'll be happy. Thanks for your help
