Ping fluctuates every 2-3 days?

So, long story short, every 2-3 days, my ping and in general my connection seems to become much worse. I average at around 50-60 ping on most games but every 2-3 days, it would be normal but then jump to 400/500.

I am using an wired connection.

Any ideas?

I have the suspicion that it is my provider. Calls have been made and there doesn't seem to be any problems. I am beginning to think it's my modem but I am not entirely sure.

And no, I don't have access to spare hardware :/
