Want an auto backup of SSD

So I was wondering recently, while looking at some articles on how SSD's are not necessarily the most stable drives to keep cherished memories and files stored, if there were any way to configure automatically writing data to both my main SSD boot drive while not taking away any of the speed from having an ssd.

What I was thinking was having a 130GB partition on my storage drive to allow for this backup (as my SSD is 120GB). Is there any way to set this through RAID or would I have to do it in the OS environment? Keep in mind, I am looking to do this in real time and not a nightly backup as I am mainly gonna be using the SSD for most used files and programs while editing in programs.

Thanks ahead of time for your help!

"A much better solution would be to just keep your OS and programs on the SSD and all your data on the hard drive while backing up to a separate dedicated drive"

I agree! I use my old Samsung 470 ssd strictly for backups. My situation is a little different. I used the Microsoft Windows backup feature to automatically create a backup every Sunday morning.

It is possible to do continuous differential backups, but the only way to do a real time mirroring to a hard drive without degrading read performance is to do ssd caching, where all data is written to the hard drive and "hot" data is also stored on the SSD.

Either way you shouldn't consider this a backup and you'll need a dedicated backup either way.

If you want to do continuous differential backups you can do that with Acronis Trueimage, but it will degrade performance as it is constantly accessing another read stream.

A much better solution would be to just keep your OS and programs on the SSD and all your data on the hard drive while backing up to a separate dedicated drive.
