Just purchased a 3 TB Seagate SATA HD. Need RST, I think, because the HD will only Format to 746 Gigs.
My Processor is an AMD Phenom II x6 1055T 2.80 Ghz. 6GB RAM (2.00 GB usable.) 64-bit OS.

Is there an acceptable way to get the full 3 TB usage from this HD. I want it for backup only, no boot.

Thanking you in advance, I am
Sincerely,

RST doesn't exist for AMD, as that is Intel's storage controller driver (rapid start technology is what it stands for). You will want to look on your motherboard's support page and see if they offer a "gpt unlocker" "3 TB unlocker" etc software to unlock larger drives. Also note, the drive will have to be a GPT drive rather than an MBR drive to access the full 3TB on one partition. The easiest way to check if it is GPT is to open diskpart (use run to launch "diskpart") then enter "list disk" if the drive has a star next to GPT, then it is configured correctly.
