At my office my phone is an Inter-tel 8520. It does not support blue tooth without a hook lift (or whatever it's called). I want to get rid of the phone and connect it to my laptop via a Rj11-USB adapter and receive calls from the installed land line via blue tooth headset. The thought is to be able to listen to the laptop audio and hear a chime when a call is coming in, and seamlessly switch over from anywhere in the office. Is this possible? Thanks for any suggestions!

You are looking for a POTS modem, but they are (were) not capable of what you are looking for (to be used as a telehone with a computer).

If you want to to cut the cord, move your phone to VoIP provider, and install SIP client on our laptop / iPhone / Android, from all over the world, then use whatever headset you want.
