A lot of applications stopped working recently.I did a full system scan with avast free antivirus(no problems.)and I didn't install anything new.
When I open a program it either doesn't open(no errors, it just looks like its going to open but doesn't and the screen remains as is before I tried to open it) or it gives me the program has stopped working error.
The default microsoft games(freecell,chess,solitaire etc.) don't work and neither do any of the emulators I installed.Furthermore most of the games I have suffer from the first error and when I try after a while they magically open.
