Hello all,

I am a long time reader but this is my first post so hopefully I'm going about all of this in the proper way.

System Specs-

Asus M5A97 R2.0
AMD FX 6300
Kingston Hyper X Blu 4GBx2
EVGA GTX 770 2GB
EVGA 600B PSU
Western Digital Caviar Blue HDD

So I recently decided to replace/upgrade the motherboard on my first build. I managed to install windows 7 oem just fine. After that was complete I put in the Asus mobo disc to install the utilities etc. After installation the system said it needed to reboot and I clicked ok. Upon rebooting, I saw the familiar black Asus screen saying press F1 or delete to access the BIOS however it went no further. I tried pressing F1 or delete but couldn't get to the BIOS.

Before even thinking of posting my question I read all of the forums on here and other places pertaining to this question.

Troubleshooting which has already been attempted and not worked:

1.) Pressing the Direct Key button to get to bios- still takes me to the same screen.

2.)Taking out one stick of RAM, moving RAM to different slots.

3.)CMOS- Attempting to clear by moving jumper and also by taking out battery.

4.)Disconnected and reconnected all connections, checked all hardware etc.

I do not have a bios speaker, I have not called Asus technical support yet and perhaps most importantly I have not yet tried to flash the BIOS with a thumb drive.

One thing I noticed which seemed to be a trend regarding this mobo and bios problems is that many people seemed to also have an FX 6300 and Kingston Hyper X Blu Ram. I am going to attempt to flash the bios which I wanted to save as my last option (and the real last ditch option- returning/exchanging). I'm just puzzled since everything from the bios access and functioning to windows 7 was going perfectly until it all of a sudden didn't. Perhaps the bios flash to most recent will help (?) because the package insert with my 770 said " ...includes a full UEFI BIOS...before installing 770, it is recommended to update your bios to the latest version"

Any and all help/suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!
