  1. I would get a 120GB one from Samsung from newegg. They have a higher reputation. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2W01AZ5378
  2. I forgot to mention that I have a budget of $60 and after that 10 percent It is still $81. I am getting a 840 evo just not now Nd just not 120gb. I was gonna get the 840 evo 250 gb but it's raise In price makes me want to wait till it is around $120-130 so the question was which of those two ssds should I get or a better one for $60
  3. If you only have $60, and want/need a 120GB SSD....don't.

Wait until you have more money.
  4. So that pny drive is that bad? It is rated 500 read and 450 write I believe. And I won't be able to finish my PC until I get a SSD and I am not waiting for the 250gb to go down. I heard there is no point in getting the 120gb 840evo because of the type of NAND flash it uses. And I was also told if I was getting less then 250gb that it should be mlc not tlc
  5. I'm only 14 and it would take me about 3 months to get more money
  6. The 840 EVO is the generally recommended SSD, in whatever size fits in your budget.

I would not, under any circumstances, buy a used SSD.
  7. Okay but the pny one for $60 isn't used it is $60 on Amazon right now. So is that an option?

Also, an SSD is not a requirement, but rather a luxury. Games will work just as well off a standard HDD.
  9. You could get a 60GB SSD by samsung. those are cheap. And I hear you brother, its hard to save up if you are 14 and dont have a job. I'm also 14
  10. I would suggest against a 60GB drive. Too small.
  11. So is there any reason not to get the pny? I know it doesn't have the best reviews but neither is the Intel CPU mama is rocking and same with the 780 ti I know the 840 evo is one of the best but I want my PC built now and my dad says He doesn't want to reinstall the Windows 7 on the ssd after I get one so I have to get it all now. The pny doesn't have many bad reviews and I think it is rated okay. Some failure rates but I am fine with a Rma if need be. I know how good the 840 evo is and I am getting one in the future but the price is too much for me at the moment and in game loading and boot times not a huge difference will be seen as I've been told only when actually writing and reading which I don't do a whole lot of. Is there any reason not to get the PNY express? (Not real name just pun)
  12. Do you have a link to the PNY drive?

    Interesting.
While not a top rank SSD, at $60 for a 120GB drive I'd probably go for it.
  14. Alright thanks. And if my drive ends up being like the ones with the one egg reviews. People claim that it boots fast but in gameplay it slugs. What would be the cause for this. When they say slug they mean it is slower then a hard drive because even a sata 2 doesn't really slug in gameplay.

An SSD can't help nor hurt during gameplay. Anyone who says so simply does not know what they are talking about.
  16. Right. About four of the 17 reviews say this so I don't really understand. They probably didn't have all the ssd stuff enabled that needed to be.

Do not focus on NeweggAmazonFrys reviews.
1/2 of them are paid shills, 1/3 are clueless, 1/3 are bitching about bad shipping.1/3 haven't used it yet and are simply "Look what I bought!"
  18. Alright man thanks for the input. I will try to purchase tomorrow.
  19. 120gb ssd plus caviar blue ftw!
