Ok, so Newegg had the 120gb 840 evo on shell shocker so i just had to get it.
I have a few questions:

1) It did not come with mounting screws...apparently they were too costly to include...I've seen two threads* that contradict one another but they're for the Pro version. I've seen #6-32 x 7mm (why they measured an SAE screw in mm is beyond me...) and M2x3mm (much shorter, also doesn't mention pitch, I'm going to assume 0.4mm thread pitch, pretty standard) Does anyone know what size mounting screws this drive uses?

2) I don't want to migrate my old drive to this one. I have a 1TB WD Black that I want to pull my important data from (to an external) and do a clean install of Win7 on the SSD. Then format the HDD and use it purely for storage. Is this a good option? My main concern is that i've been having driver issues and little quirks and things that I want to do away with and the only way I've thought of doing this (seeing as I've updated all my drivers) is to do a complete reinstall of windows. Any advice?

3) SATA Cables. I know it's a cable so it doesn't really matter what I get, but I was thinking Wal Mart as it's close by. Any opinions on WalMart cable reliability?

Thank you!

Solution
I'm not sure inside the store has any sata cables but online probably would. If you found a local store that had them you could probably look around in their and see which ones are the smallest without not reaching where you want them to go. That way cable management can look solid. As for reinstalling Windows. I believe that saving all your data and making a clean install on the ssd would be the best option especially when you are having driver issues. After you get Windows 7 installed I would recommend purchasing Ccleaner to keep your registry cleaned after you uninstall things like games in the future. Or find another way to get Ccleaner. That is my $.02 and after writing that I wonder if anyone uses the cent symbol anymore the c| thing

Thank you, I have Ccleaner and ever since I installed it it's been nothing but trouble...it totally removed my USB drivers, corrupted my wireless adapter drivers, and caused chrome to behave worse than internet explorer XD. but people keep saying it's great. maybe I'm just using it wrong. Thanks for the help.

Thank you. Still, I find it strange the standards they use. I mean it's a 2.5" format (SAE) but it's measured at 7mm thick (SI) and has SAE screws...weird. Thank you!

Uninstall CCLEANER and then download and install from here: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download

It does work well. I will also delete the saved passwords (cookies) and that is not a big problem.
