I'm planning to build a high end pc that could game in 4k, as there is a new samsung 28" 4k monitor that is 60hz via displayport for a relatively cheap $700. What i'm asking is, is the msi r9 290x gaming edition worth the extra $200 (total of both) over the sapphire r9 290 vapor-x edition?

Specs:

CPU: i7 4770k
Motherboard: Asus maximus vi formula
Fans: Corsair sp120 x 4 sp140 x 3
Ram: 16gb corsair vengeance pro 1866mhz
Storage: 250gb samsung 840 evo, 3tb caviar green
Cpu Cooler: H105
PSU: Corsair RM1000
Case: Fractal Design Define R4

CF R9 290 will no doubt also perform pretty well on 4K if you decide to go for that.
You should also consider the ASUS R9 290 DirectCUIIOC, some places ASUS is the cheapers card you can get, sometimes it's the most expensive. I...

The R9 290X would be worth it at only $100 more each.
Though i hope for you that you have a good airflow with the MSI cards in CF, I've seen people with case temp problems with a single MSI R9 290 GAMING, two MSI R9 290X GAMING.. jeez all the heat. :)

EDIT: just noticed you have 7 fans, well then you should be good to go ;)
