Wd my passport freezes explorer but ok linux

I have a newer wd my passport ultra 3tb ext hdd that recently I cannot access. I did have a power outage while computer was on, however it seems to power up fine but when I click on my computer to see drive windows 7 freezes. I tried it in my laptop with vista same problem. I then tried in same laptop under linux mint and I have full access to files. I've updated windows and all drivers. Please help

Hi,

You may try to check your hard drive for errors. Use chkdsk x: /f (replace x with the corresponding drive letter of your drive) in command line. It may take some time for a 3TB drive.
