it is overkill. you could easily power 2 gtx titans. you could also power two gtx titans with an i5 2500k

Yes, but the 4670 is nearly identical when gaming. So you can save a lot of money buy getting it instead

Well yea! It's a little bit slower than the (K) version when the (K) is at stock speeds, so should perform almost as good.

EDIT: Guys you can't assume hes ONLY gaming, just because he asks how it would perform in gaming.

Yes it is very good at everything but I don't recommend buying it for anything

I can tell you one reason, the price is almost the same as the K version, and the K is faster. So rather go for the K unless the price difference is pretty big (eg. you found the i7 4770 on sale somewhere).

Because it is not a very good value at all. You could save $50-60 and get the Xeon e3-1230v3 instead or even the almost identical e3-1245v3 for $25-30 cheaper.

It is perfectly fine for gaming. But if your only purpose is gaming then the i5-4670k will have identical performance.
