Just like the title, my new oc'd fx6300 with Asus m5a97 2.0 board has and c&q on. I noticed that it would never under clock the frequency like its supposed to until it was woken from sleep. Any ideas?

update: more info:
It looks like being clocked to 4.2 with offset vcore of 1.36 only remains/ is attainable if the system doesn't go to sleep. Once the computer goes to sleep and wakes, Amd C&Q will start working, and then only allow the processor to clock to 3.8 ghz. Something is really messed up.

Solution
Overclocking is generally incompatible with C&Q. Sometimes it works, but usually it doesn't. There used to be a few custom C&Q programs that did work, like PhenomMSRTweaker and K10stat, but I'm pretty sure they are not up to date with the FX chips. You could simply make separate profiles in the BIOS, one for power savings/quiet, and one for gaming/benchmarking, ect.
