Hi,

I just recently purchased a Windows 8 HP Laptop for the soul purpose of being able to play all the old games from my younger days, for example:

* Command & Conquer Red Alert 2
* World In Conflict
* Age Of Empires 2
* Goosebumps Escape From Horrorland Win95
*Goosebumps Attack Of The Mutant Win95
* Diablo 2

As computer experts I am certain you would have known this was a stupid idea, of which I had know knowledge of. The last computer I owned was another HP Laptop with Vista on it back 6yrs ago, which played all of those games well. I plan to keep this laptop for whatever purpose it may have in the future. However, I am in the market for a desktop gaming computer that has the ability to be as new and up to date as possible with the ability to play all of those old games listed above. I have a budget currently of $800-$1200AUD. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Will McBroom

You can run VMWARE (XP) (free) on win 8. I have it on 7 and can play most of my old games on it.
Something that may interest you is "Command & Conquer the ultimate collection - 17 games ! I have it on my win 7 and the games have been moddied to run. There are a few glitches with the very early games - but all are playable.
