I am looking to help build my friend a Gaming pc and am wondering what would be the best parts to get the most out of 800$ Canadian.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Well, still the same for video rendering having around 12-16gb of RAM will make rendering faster.
The same should apply, you shouldn't need a solid state drive and bumb the GFX card up to a 770 like this one: http://www.pny.eu/product/p-7-220-693/Overclocked-Series/GeForce-GTX-770-XLR8-OC-PCI-E-2GB/ but obviously you mightn't have the budget for an OC edition card.

Anyways, happy picking

I am thinking something like this? http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/3ugAI

Although it seems I keep going over the budget a little. What are your guys thoughts?

Trying to get it as close to about 800 as I can since he also needs a monitor and perhaps some peripherals, although he may be able to save up some extra if he waits a bit so ya, let me know your honest opinions.

I'd get a little more RAM if you are going to be doing rendering ect for CAD.
The CPU you chose is perfect. Easily overclockable too.
You shouldnt need a Solid State for CAD
And I might bump the card up to a 770 instead of the Solid State

Sorry I meant Canadian, Not CAD oops. My bad, but thanks for the tips. I think he's just doing gaming and video editing mostly. I'll ask if he's gonna be doing any 3d modeling or design.
