I'm having some performance issues with my new build and I decided now's a good a time as ever to submit a post.
I've benchmarked a few games, and it seems that some of the benchmarks don't even come close to the ones I've found online (Tom's Hardware, Anandtech, Guru3D, etc.).
When I built my current computer, I was really expecting this graphics card to pretty much tear through most modern titles (especially at my resolution of 1920x1200), but it seems to struggle and doesn't really reach a steady 60 fps. I haven't overclocked any of my components yet, but I have made sure that my ram is clocked at 1600 (advertised speed). All games are installed into my HDD, with the OS running off the SSD.
Here are my specs:
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti Superclocked 3GB
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K
MoBo: ASUS Z87-PRO LGA 1150 Intel Z87
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz
PSU: Cooler Master V850 - 850W Power Supply
SSD: Samsung Electronics 840 EVO-Series 500GB
HDD: WD BLACK SERIES WD2003FZEX 2TB
Case: Corsair Obsidian Series 650D
Monitor: Dell u2410 @ 1920x1200
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1
I don't have every game out unfortunately, but here is a small list of the games I've benchmarked (Please note that all benchmarks were done to match benchmarks done on various websites for a true 1:1 comparison):
-Hitman Absolution (built-in benchmark/Ultra preset/MSAA off):
Min FPS: 46 | Average FPS: 58 | Max FPS: 74
-Crysis 1 (built-in benchmark/Very High preset/4x AA):
Min FPS: 43 | Average FPS: 67 | Max FPS: 81
-Tomb Raider 2013 (built-in benchmark/Ultra preset/FXAA enabled/TressFX Disabled):
Min FPS 118 | Average FPS: 142 | Max FPS: 166
-BioShock Infinite (built-in benchmark):
Min FPS 13 | Average FPS: 111 | Max FPS: 210
-Unigine Heaven all maxed out @ 1920x1080 shows the following:
MIN FPS: 26 | Average FPS: 64 | Max FPS: 132
Score: 1619
(Keep in mind that I have just a single monitor running these games at 1920x1200)
Gaming seems to be the only issue, which is a real bummer since that was primarily what I had in mind when building this computer. I will definitely be overclocking both the GPU and CPU, but I just want to make sure everything runs properly first.
I have tried the following to no avail:
-Uninstalling/reinstalling all Nvidia drivers for my card (Used Driver Sweeper when uninstalling)
-Just installing the nvidia graphics driver directly from Nvidia's site (without Nvidia GeForce Experience)
-Monitoring temps for both CPU/GPU (nothing out of the ordinary)
-Allowing Windows to automatically install the Graphics driver
-Checking PSU connections to my graphics card
-Re-seating the graphics card
Nothing seems to work with increasing my in-game performance. I was considering RMA'ing my graphics card, but I'm hoping someone here will find something I may be missing to help me resolve this issue.
What do you guys think? Any chance that I'm just messing up or set my expectations too high for this card?
I'm particularly worried about the performance in Hitman Absolution, it just seems too low.
Any advice or input will be appreciated!
