HI guys, this is my first computer build. I believe I setup everything correctly, and when I assembled it (in case) with everything ready, it started up, fans, the lot- but then a beep came on (immediately when I turned it on actually) and it was 1L2S meaning a RAM issue. I tried a lot of stuff with the RAM and eventually it would start and then stop, with only 2 fans spinning for a second and no beeps, then shutting off (if you can call that 'starting up'). I did an external build to see if that would help and here is the video of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lActkNyDrfk&feature=youtu.be
It appears to be exactly the same- I am completely lost as to what I should do. Take it to geeksquad? First I'd like to try what I can do myself- I'd prefer not to take it to anyone but if I have to then I will. I really appreciate any help at all, I need it badly. Thank you so much!

I agree with Kip. There is probably something short circuiting, causing it to shut off. I have had a similar problem before. You should disconnect everything from the board that is not absolutely vital to starting up. Any USB devices or USB headers, network cards, optical drives, case fans, extra hard drives, maybe even try removing video cards, ect. Any one of these items could have a problem that could cause the failure. If you had different RAM modules put them in to test, or remove half the modules that you are currently trying.
If it still does not boot, I would guess you have a problem on the motherboard, or with the power supply.

Let us know, what happens.
