My PC freezes randomly and a lot! PSU's fault?

Hi,

I have built my PC in January and since day one that it occasionally freezes when playing games, plugging USB cables to the front USB ports, or performing regular work. However, since the past three days that it became worse. It freezes almost 10 times a day, when before it could go days without freezing at all.
BIOS is updated and so are all drivers.
Heating is not an issue either since I've been monitoring it very closely.
I also have introduced the memory settings into BIOS (timings, frequency, voltage) and no luck so far.
Opened the PC and checked every connection, unplugged and plugged it back, which also yielded no successful results.
Ran a BurnInTest on CPU, GPU, and RAM and all passed it!
Now I'm asking myself, could it be the PSU? If so, how could I test it? Can it be something else?

Thanks for your help!

My system specs are:
Windows 8.1
MB: Asus M5A97 R2.0
CPU: AMD FX-9370
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7870
Memory: 2 x Corsair Vengeange 4GB DDR3 SDRAM PC3-12800
PSU: Raidmax HYBRID RX-730SS (730w)

More about : freezes randomly lot psu fault

The FX 9370 is not made to run on 970 chipset Motherboard. It struggles even with some 990 chipset motherboards. The cause of your freezing is your Motherboard.
You should have done more research before buying your hardware,

This one will support the FX 9370

Also better get aftermarket CPU Cooler, the FX 9370 heats up pretty fast.

i hope you have some serious cooling on that cpu. those AMD 9 series cpu's tdp is 220 watts. THEY MAKE MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF HEAT. if you can get a liquid cooler for it, preferrably 240mm or if you can 360mm radiators. if the cpu starts to overheat it will automatically freeze or shutdown to prevent damage to the cpu.

The cpu isn't in the support list for the motherboard on the asus site too.

So, I was going to buy the M5A99FX Pro and suddenly it stopped freezing...so now I am confused! Did I fix whatever was causing it to freeze or is it really the CPU?

I do have a corsair liquid cooler, it does not get crazy hot or anything.

I don't know,maybe it got scared of being replaced.:p

Maybe a windows update that did something ... ?

No problems at all? That would be nice whatever happened, just enjoy your pc if this is the case.

Yes, very odd! It just stopped. I wanted to buy the new motherboard but now I'm not sure if should just wait or buy the new motherboard regardless.

Your board isn't compatible , and your power supply and very very poor. Raidmax power supplies have been known to explode.

If it works could you look if it will keep on doing that,if it does could you probably stay with this board although it says in the spec "Supports CPU up to 140 W " this cpu is higher than that. This cpu has a tdp of 220 watt's.Probably why many boards struggle with it,especially when people try to overclock it even further.
The thing is that even the most expensive motherboards only support cpu's up to 140watts tdp so there is really no difference there.
Just don't try to overclock it.
