4 gb ram not recognized

i have 1 gb ram ddr3
asrock g41c gs ddr3 2 slot
pentium d 945
400 watt win 7 64 bit
and i have install a 4 gb ram kingston ddr3 1333 and not recognized what can i do ??
 
Solution
First I would try the 4 GB stick alone in slot 1 to see that it is compatible with your motherboard.

If that does not work, check BIOS that latency and voltage is set correctly according to your motherboard specifications.

If the 4 GB stick works by itself (I personally would just run with that) you have to check if your motherboard can run with different size memory modules, and if it can, plug in the 1 GB stick, enter BIOS and make sure that latency and voltage is set to be compliant with the worst of either stick.
