So. I have gotten this error suddenly 1 day ago. I have been reading and readin and nothing is helping. I am at a big gaming event and i had to reinstall the ethernet drivers for my PC because they werent there... For the first day or so it worked perfectly. Then some time later it began giving me the "Local Area Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration thing and i just dont know what to do. The wifi here is horrible for gaming so yeah. I really need to fix this.

my ipconfig /all is in my own language.

Facts about the problem: DHCP is activated, Automatic Configuration of IPv4 is enabled, the IPv4 address is a 169.254 address, undernetmask is: 255.255.0.0, Many other people are on this internet and im the only one reporting the problem and i have no way of tinkering with the router. It used to work for some time after installing the drivers. I have tried disabling IPv6 and also tried to set all the IPv4 settings by myself. Thanks for your time and i really hope you can help me! :)

Solution
Simply verify that the Ip is correct on your system vs another system.
Ask someone to punch pu there IP config on another system.

Take note of the Sub net. address.

You may have a correct IP address in the given out IP pool by Dhcp.
But the Sub net mask of 255.255.0.0

Is not the default base setting in some cases.
It may be 255.255.255.0

If you are using a wired cable ask what speed the ports are running at.

10/100/1000 then set your adapter to the right speed config.

If a switch is used then depending on the speed of your Ethernet port or what it is set to it may be outside of the switch speed so lower it to 10/100.
