What are the best Combination Gpu with processor intel

Hello ,im looking for second opinion choosing GPU for my intel core i7 4820K. Some of my friend say using AMD gpu better with processor AMD , and intel good with Nvidia Gpu , is it true ? im confuse , if choosing Intel core i7 4820K , then which GPU should i buy between R9 290X ligthning MSI (4gb 512 bit) or GTX 780 ti twin frozr gaming (3Gb 384 bit)
could anyone give me second opinion ? if there any other GPU better that you are giving suggestion , please suggest GPU price about the same with R9 290X ligthning MSI (4gb 512 bit) or GTX 780 ti twin frozr gaming (3Gb 384 bit) .

The part about intel with nvidia, and AMD with AMD performs better is just a myth (a lie). Never been proven to be a fact, and AMD keeps the "myth" alive to keep their sales numbers up.

Nvidia cards perform better on DirectX games, and AMD with OpenCL. Thats the major difference between the 2 gpu brands.

Personally i would recommend going for the "Gigabyte Geforce gtx 780 Ti GHz Edition".

What your friend probably means is that AMD gpus have a feature called "Mantle", this feature is supported in a few games and helps you processor alot. Though there's no gpu that will perform badly or worse on a Intel processor. I would go for the 780ti, you processor is way fast enough to not have any huge benefits from Mantle. And the 780ti is the fastest of the two cards.
