I am trying to build a mini itx gaming desktop, with bitfenix prodigy case and trying to decide if I should get a i3 4130 + gtx 750 ti, or just go with a10 7850k. I would really love a mini gaming pc that ca play most games on ultra with a decent fps. Please help me, I am on a tight budget as well.

You're not getting ultra with the a10 or that i3 setup. Of the two the i3 setup would perform better.

Im planning to get a kingston 8gbx1 memory along with the setup and also a mini itx mobo or a macro atx that wud fit in bitfenix prodigy. Thank you guys for telling me that, that setup wont give me ultra @ 1080p on games but what cud i add or change to reach that ultra i want on some games.? Thanks in advance. Im plan to so this on a $600 budget.

You're pretty much strapped in what you can do with that budget. Get 2x4gb sticks so you can get dual channel memory. Will perform faster than a single 8gb stick.

You didn't list your budget. That's kinda important. I agree with ohyouknow about neither of those setups being capable of ultra unless you are playing @ 720p or 900p maybe.

Wow! Thanks for telling me that man. One more thing, say ill ditch the mini itx build and go the mid tower one you think replacing the i3 with fx 6300 will make the rig perform better or id rather stick with i3 for future proof since fx use am3+ mobo. Thanks for answering man,.

Replacing the i3 with a FX6300 is not an upgrade. Stick with the i3. You need to upgrade the video card to a 270x or GTX760 at the very minimum. Also, there will be absolutely no noticeable difference in performance between 1x8GB and 2x4GB RAM... not in a build like this.

You can build an awesome miniITX system. That's really not an issue.

Thanks cturbo, well Im kinda changing my mind now and go with a matx build since i've been reading a lot of good reviews in using a athlon x4 760 with gtx 750 ti or gtx 760. You think that build wud give me a better gaming experience compare to my orignal plan build using i3,.?? And iheard that its cheaper build and i can do matx build using bitfenix prodigy m,.

My opinion, after my mistake of building an AMD system (mine is riddled with problems), is that you really cannot go wrong with Intel. Single thread performance on an i3 far dominates any AMD chip, and that shows in many use cases.

However, in terms of upgrade-ability, the Athlon 760 would get you well off. If you get an FM2+ socket motherboard, you will be set for at least another year and a half with current CPUs.

Definitely, with your plans to game, avoid APUs if you are using integrated graphics. You will have to lower resolutions pretty far with your 1080p monitor. Your decision should be between the Athlon and the i3.

Good luck! Hope I could help!

I would choose the i3 4130 if I could but it's $35 more than the Athlon. It will definitely perform better if you can afford it.

The i3 will perform better with "most" games, as even though it's only dual core, "most" games are only designed to make take advantage 2 or less cores/threads.

Also, gaming isn't THAT cpu reliant, so you're using the i3 to it's fullest potential, as opposed to an i5/7 that's not working as hard as it could.
Check out this comparison to show that the i3 performs perfectly fine for high end gaming, and that it's really the GPU that's your limiting factor:

I would definitely go for the i3-4130, because of performance. Gaming will be considerably faster on the i3. The i3-4330 is on sale right now on Newegg and it is only $5 more than the 4130. I would take a look at that. That isn't a whole lot faster, but it has HD 4600 instead of 4400 (for what that's worth), as well as more cache. For $5 it is very much worth it.
