So I just finished building my first computer. I started it up and it went to the Asus screen that had stuff like my fan speed and temp of my CPU. It showed my WD 1TB HDD and it also said Generic Flash Drive, which I had plugged in and has my Win7 on it. I have a Samsung SSD that wasn't showing up at all though. I turned off my pc and tried to replug my cables for my SSD in, and when I turned my computer back on it went to a screen that said "reboot and select proper boot device" and I can't get past this.

Based off that info 2 questions. 1) Is my SSD dead? 2) How can I fix the boot device problem?

Its my first build so I'm surprised I made it this far without questions haha.

Thank you in advance!

So I unplugged my WD and only have my Samsung plugged in. I was able to get back to that screen, but it only shows 2 Generic Flash Drives with 7000ish mb of space on it. My flash drive is 8GB so I'm pretty sure that its showing that twice but not my SSD.

After watching a youtube video I found out that somewhat supposed to look like that. I tried to boot win7 that is on my flash drive, but I get the same screen as before. Could my file be corrupt on there? Or am I still doing something wrong

Update: I was able to get my SSD to show up, but I still can't get it to load off of my flash drive.

Exactly what files do you have on the flash drive? Apparently it is not bootable.

Did you just copy and paste a .ISO file to it, or did you "burn" a proper copy of Windows installation files (Autorun.inf, etc.)?

I had torrented it onto the flash drive right away. So that should be burned right to it right?

I have 4 main files Windows 7 Activation, Windows 7 SP 1 Ultimate.iso, Windows 7 USB - USB Tool Information, and Windows 7 USB - USB Tool.

I've done this before with a USB probably 4 years ago, but I did it on our computer that already have windows install not a new build like this.
