Hey all,

I recently put together a new build that consists of the following:

-Vengeance Pro Series 8GB DDR3-1866 (PC3-15000) CL9 Desktop Memory Kit (Two 4GB)
-Corsair RM1000 Watt With Flat Black Cables and Zero RPM Fan Mode ATX Modular Power Supply
-AMD FX 9370 Black Edition 4.4GHz Eight-Core Socket AM3+
-MSI N760 TF 2GD5/OC NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 2048MB GDDR5 PCIe 3.0 x16 Video Card
-SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 AM3+ ATX AMD Motherboard
-Corsair Hydro H100 Water Cooler

When I first powered everything on, I would get 2 red blinking cpu lights, then the boot device led would like red followed by another red cpu led blink and the system would power off all in about 5-10 seconds. I did get cpu fan error due to using a liquid cooler instead of a heatsink fan, but I wasn't even able to get into the bios to disable the fan error.

I had an old AMD Phenom 2 X3 720 sitting around that I tried installing for laughs and it boots up great with that processor. I was able to go into the bios and disable the fan error message and also update the bios to 2301 which is the needed bios version to support my CPU and I still get the same results.

I have the 6 pin CPU power cable connected as well as the 24 pin mobo connection. I tried moving my ram all over to different slots but no dice. I tried having my old phenom 2 x3 heatsink fan connected to the cpu fan header on my mobo along with having the water cooler running, but that didn't change anything either.

This all sounds like a bad CPU to me, so I exchanged the fx 9370 for a new one and am getting the exact same problem.

Anyone have any ideas?

Glad to hear all is well, and you'll be much happier with the 4770K anyway, it beat out the 9370 and 9590 in testing at basically everything while still at it's base clock setting, when OCed it really runs away from the AMDs

Great news. After replacing every component on my build atleast once (twice for processor and motherboard), I returned the processor and motherboard and bought an i7 4770k with the asus z87-pro and am no longer having issues:bounce:

Never had issues with building AMD machines the past 10 years, but this pretty much ended my stint with them.
